Default Electric Paddle Shift Actuator

Does anyone have any feedback on the XAP electric paddle shift actuators? I see that they are used in a spec series in Europe, but they don't seem to be very common in the US and the general consensus is "electric actuators suck but I haven't heard of that brand yet"

Would be nice to avoid the air tank compressor, but they are also $900 more then the air systems and seemingly unknown.

I guess while we are here, what is the "cheaper then Motec" solution for closed loop shifting? I am currently leaning towards the G4+

Not on a Porsche, but this seems to be one of the better technical forums for cars so I am asking here

Kevin,

Are these "free" modifications for NASA TT2?

I ran one in a prototype. They miss shift a lot more than pneumatic but like you said less up keep.

They are heat sensitive so I suggest shrouding them or placing in a cool spot

Was it an E-Shift 1 or 2.
