There's a feel of the car when it's sitting on the limit feels a lot like arc'ing a ski

Default my 3 favorite quotes

  1. using all the track (there is nothing more obvious but so hard to do consistently, in all corners and manage risk at the same time)
  2. going fast enough that you miss the apex, by a few millimeters... (there is so much in that sentence...)
  3. Where in the corner your VMIN happens (never thought about this but I totally get how that matters)

A "basics refresher" is always good, regardless of experience. Thanks for posting.

For me, the hardest part is to not overdrive the car
Oh and the way I release the brakes

From an older thread--still applies, at least in my case

In my 121hp car on street tires the secret is to minimize my inputs to keep the speed up, and do so lap after lap......and by "inputs" I refer to anything that would detract from being WOT

I'm to the point where I can count the tenths I lose when I don't execute as I should, as compared to a "clean" lap.....
Brake just a bit too early/too much--there's a tenth.
Turn in just a bit too much so as to feel the fronts scrubbing--at least a tenth.
Fail to unwind the wheel in time on exit--you guessed it.
And so on.......and with so little power, once you do this stuff it's tough to get back what you've lost. In short, the steering wheel needs to be straight and my right foot needs to be on the floor as much as possible!

All basic, fundamental stuff, but in the heat of things out there sometimes easy to forget.

Gary
