So who got nailed by the Mustang at VIR?

Glad to hear the Gt3 pilot is ok. As an orthopedic trauma surgeon I have seen plenty of patients involved in tangential side impacts with horrendous pelvic and thoracic injuries. God bless porsche engineers and productions workers for thoughtful designs and robust build quality.

Hey Dwane ! Yeah, that would be great and would love to get back to Mosport. I ran there once with Upper Canada and was great. Another time involved a different PCA region and was a ****show and will not run with them again.
I think very important to drive multiple tracks, and glad RSR has committed to including Calabogie in its schedule. I wish I could have gone by have a conflict which precludes me from doing so. Big Daddy (Dave) Kane will be there though, and I am looking forward to going back.
So, yes - maybe we can start getting something planned for Mosport. That would be “EPIC” (in the words of Mr Lane).

One thing that can help us that if you’re on track, and you see situations developing you’re uncomfortable with, pull into the pits and communicate to control or one of the event organizers on pit lane. This used to be more prevalent than it is now, IMO.
Few big errors or serious incidents like this one come out of the blue or occur spontaneously. There are patterns of behavior that are clear to many of the commentators on this thread that presage bad stuff.

Drivers are “checked off” in various DE and track day groups all the time. This doesn’t represent that they are infallible, not subject to errors in technique or catastrophic errors in judgment. Unless the asshattery is apparent leaving the pit lane, or called in by the workers, not sure how the organizers are supposed to know.

We're going to handle it next event but letting one of the 35 instructors ambling around the paddock all day know would have (probably) fixed it on Friday.
By contrast, a couple instructors let the CI know of a recurring issue with a driver for the event this weekend and we've already concocted a plan to try and resolve it.

One of the good things we have done down here at the COTA Schnellfest events is having post session debriefs where crap like this can be discussed and fixed
Perhaps the Mustang driver is also a gamer?
