I think very important to drive multiple tracks, and glad RSR has committed to including Calabogie in its schedule. I wish I could have gone by have a conflict which precludes me from doing so. Big Daddy (Dave) Kane will be there though, and I am looking forward to going back.

So, yes - maybe we can start getting something planned for Mosport. That would be “EPIC” (in the words of Mr Lane).
Big Daddy....Love the nickname! We are having dinner together at the ‘bogie.(too bad you won’t be around)

Mosport...2 Matt’s....and a box of tricks
Does sound EPIC

From the new youtube video's description:

This is a few laps during the morning session on Sunday 30 June 2019, Red Group. Does not include the ending, under Black Flag.
And voilà, it never happened.

SMH.

Hard to believe this guy was driving in red group....I really like chin and this is uncharacteristic. But, its a fail that he somehow was checked into the red group.

Thx Norge911. Someone re-youtube it with their complete opinion
The short version makes him look worse, if possible.

Drivers are “checked off” in various DE and track day groups all the time. This doesn’t represent that they are infallible, not subject to errors in technique or catastrophic errors in judgment. Unless the asshattery is apparent leaving the pit lane, or called in by the workers, not sure how the organizers are supposed to know.

One thing that can help us that if you’re on track, and you see situations developing you’re uncomfortable with, pull into the pits and communicate to control or one of the event organizers on pit lane. This used to be more prevalent than it is now, IMO.

Few big errors or serious incidents like this one come out of the blue or occur spontaneously. There are patterns of behavior that are clear to many of the commentators on this thread that presage bad stuff.

A DE chief forwarded me an email that was sent yesterday letting us know that last Friday there was an issue with a car in the advanced run group. Oh, well, let me jump in my time machine and fix that right up.

We're going to handle it next event but letting one of the 35 instructors ambling around the paddock all day know would have (probably) fixed it on Friday.

By contrast, a couple instructors let the CI know of a recurring issue with a driver for the event this weekend and we've already concocted a plan to try and resolve it.

One of the good things we have done down here at the COTA Schnellfest events is having post session debriefs where crap like this can be discussed and fixed

Perhaps the Mustang driver is also a gamer?
