Default 996 steering rack ratio

Hello,
does anyone have a spare 996 steering rack laying around?
I need to know how much the rack moves per every full turn on the input axle from the steering wheel.
A 997 rack moves 57 mm per revolution, I have a feeling the 996 rack is slower.

I use a 997 rack in my race car and need a rack that is a bit slower. I use custom uprights and the steering arms on them are very short meaning I have less than 2 turns lock to lock.

Thanks!

Thanks. Any idea how that compares to a 997 rack?

The problem with steering rack ratio is that it is dependant on the upright /steering knuckle dimensions.
It would be very good to know how much the actual rack moves per 360 deg steering wheel rotation

All of the numbers I've posted come from street racks. 2.62 turns, Variable 17.11:1-13.76:1 it is 17.11:1 near center, and changes for steering wheel movements of greater than 30°.

The 2005 996 Cup Rack is listed as having 40mm of travel. (996.347.005.90)

I've got a spare 986 rack. I would assume it's the same as 996.

Yes. Would be excellent if you could measure how much the rack moves for one full revolution on the steering shaft input.
For reference a 997 rack moves 57 mm and Porsche 944/964 40 mm IIRC.

I will as soon as I find my caliper. It's not where it's supposed to be.

I get 47 mm but that's +/- at least a couple.

Edit: It was actually 1 7/8" Still haven't found the caliper.
