Default R7 tire pressures

I tried a search for this but no luck. I purchased another set of track wheels (OZ 18”) for my Cayman S track and street car. They came w some used R7s w about 8 heat cycles and have decent “tread” left. A friend is trailering them to the track this weekend for me so I am excited to try them out (never been on the track w slicks before). What tire pressures F & R cold do you recommend? I am an instructor and will heat them up pretty well. TIA.

You'll want to be somewhere between 32 and 36 Hot and depending on set-up, may find F and R the same. You will easily pick up at least 10# but don't start too low. Try 28 cold and bleed down.

Thx Bill, can always count on you! My street tires (Conti Ext Contacts) I start w 27F and 26R cold and come off the track at 36 hot. So I will start w 28 on the R7s! Thx again.

I assume the tires are reasonably fresh (not several years old) and you won't be starting out in cold weather.
If so, start at 25 front, 27 rear to get to the target 34.
Congrats on the new car!

I used to run those higher pressures. After talking with few pro race teams like BGB, I know run 22 cold, 30 hot F and 31 hot R. Obviously, want to monitor sidewall arrow indicators. I personally start at 26 cold as 22 makes me nervous, and bleed off after first session.

I start at 26 psi cold and do a couple warm up laps to get them up to temperature. While they're still cold, I'm careful not to overdrive the tires. 34-36 psi hot is about right on my Cayman. Over 40 psi the grip goes away quickly.
