Default Help with Valuation 1999 C2 track car

An opportunity appears to be presenting itself that I'd be interested in. Unfortunately, it would mean getting rid of the car that I swore I'd never get rid of... always works out that way.... These things are hard to put a valuation on - I know that I'll NEVER get close to the money I have in this...

I'd sell the car with the trailer as well - it's a Featherlite 3110 (I figure the trailer is $5.5K)... the motor is Charles Navaro from LNE personal motor that he built for his own car and never installed... I bought it when I lost my last motor. I know what the build cost....

Some specs on the car.. .

Awesome car. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to fit nicely into any PCA race class, which will somewhat limit your audience. My guess is it’s worth in the 45-50 range.

Also suggestion to part it out is something to consider - albeit criminal. The motor is worth a pretty penny.

I misunderstood your posting

it looked as though you were considering buying this car

Kind of a buyer’s mkt for this stuff

i have a silver 99 c2 with no motor (thanks to Fabian roock) and it isn’t even worth pulling out of the shipping container to get running

Default Put it on Bring a Trailer

This car is very special and will require a very special buyer. You may find this buyer at BAT.

GLWS!

A prospective buyer may want to see if there is a class of interest it will fit in. NASA could potentially be a good fit, but to calculate the Race or TT class, you'll need a dyno...go to the NASA web site for specifics, and the weight of the car with a driver and maybe 1/4 tank of gas, the amount of gas that would be in the tank after a race.
NASA races all over the USA...weight to HP is the key criteria for this Club.

Car is already NASA classed as a GTS5 which means you'll be running against some very serious hardware such as 996 based cups. Killer car GLWS.

And GTS5 is very under subscribed. I find 996 Cups more often in GTS4. 997 Cups are more common in 5 than 4 in the Northeast region, I use the term common very loosely. I think I remember seeing only 1 car in GTS5 last season. If the car can be detuned or ballasted down to GTS4 it will have somewhere to play in NASA. Keep in mind that NASA GTS is home to HUGE aero and wide meats; at least in the Northeast. Most of the BMW's in 4 and many in 3 run tires that start with a 3. Other regions may be less nuts.

ST2 and ST1 would be better home in most regions for a GTS4 or 5 car as there are typically more cars. GTS2 and GTS3 still seem to pretty healthy.

+1 on BAT.
Very special car, niche market, try to get it on a large platform to have as many potential buyers as possible.

If this goes the way I think - I'll likely have the car dyno'd - and really leaning towards parting it out.

More work but I think you'll end up getting more money like that

Very sadly, this is worth more in parts. If you don't want to do that, I'd think about throwing any (running) motor in there, and sell the current motor.

I've got it listed now with the trailer... if it doesn't get any love - I'll part it... not ideal - but it'll be what it'll be...
