Default Ingram Collection building damaged by gas explosion

So sorry to see this. I worked in this very space as a Ferrari/Alfa Romeo/Maserati mechanic between 1985 and 1987. Only a few blocks from where I live now.

Fortunately, no one was in the Collection building when the coffee shop blew up next door. Prayers to those killed and wounded.

On a trip to VIR back in 2013 I stopped at the Museum of Art in Raleigh to see the Porsche by Design exhibit. It was truly exceptional and well worth the visit. How many of Ingram's cars were in that exhibit? Whether a lot or a little it's still very sad news for him and the collection

Generally about 30-35 at a given time. The Ingram’s are wonderful folks. Big loss to the Porsche community.

I just heard this on the radio and thought of you. Your FB wouldn't let me leave a message to your page. Glad you're ok.

Bummer about the collection. Looks like RS will have some more work.

That’s one of the reasons why RS was started, long before the Collection was assembled in that wonderful space.

You can see the 904 and the 997 4.0 intact in the news video through an opening in the roof, maybe made by the FD people to access and knock down any fire from next door.

Supposedly the the gas leak had been called in about 35 minutes before and FD and responders were on the scene and had begun evacuations.

Cars can be fixed, people can’t. A tragedy.

Prayers to the emergency responders, the victims, Mr. Ingram, Rory and Cam and everyone affected.

Certainly. I new you lived in Durham and was hoping it wasn't too close to home. So true on the cars. Time will tell how bad the collection was damaged.

I was just messaging with Cam the other day about how great the Rennsport Reunion was. It was really cool being on pit lane inbetween Hurley and Norbert!

People who are injured can hopefully recover.
The cars which were damaged can be restored.
The tragedy of this is the person who lost their life.
