Oh wow. I guess he was still going to be the race director for this weekend. It seems like he was there forever. The drivers didn't like him when he penalized them, but respected his decisions in the end. Who will take over?

All I know about CW is what the public knows but I can't help but think about Vettel's comments during the race in 2016 where he said CW should "F off". In a sport of big egos CW was fine with an apology and moved on when he could have used his position to extract a penalty out of Seb. I think this says something about the man.

After reading what some of the drivers who had met with him said, I take it that he really did seem to try to be positive in his dealings, not dictatorial...... I'll be thinking of him and his family as I take in the festivities this weekend beginning with P2 Friday (1255am ESPNews).
