I'm sure by now you have found an answer to your question - but if not the PCA Zone 8 Calendar has all the DE and other events posted - plenty to choose from in the SoCal area . . .

OCR is a mess. New president/board. Fallout with all the volunteers that were running AX and DE events. Board is old and stuck in there ways. They are more concerned with eating social events. Join a different region. They didn’t like the way it was going so pissed all the volunteers off. All the volunteers have gone over to POC. Check them out. They will be doing AX and DE I believe.

Wow. Sorry to hear that news, but how does that happen to a PCA region?
Arent the regions governed by the Zones and the Zones governed by National?
Sounds like a lot of politics is killing that region. That’s sad, especially for those that love the track stuff.
Glad there are other options for you OP. Good luck.

All politics are local. So are the volunteer base.

in CA, PCA SDR and PCA GGR are great.
Oh, and POC is great too. POC is more 'race' oriented but a really good group. They do time trial which is basically DE. Just be comfortable with race cars in TT :-)

I like to support local club and local shops. But I do run with GrandPrix region and a number of private track rentals guys.

Still no direct answer on why no dates for DE for 2019. Website doesnt show any dates for OC DEs and the volunteer position for DE, Autocross etc... are vacant.

Hopefully this isnt political and drama filled.

I was just trying to build my DE schedule for 2019. Since December I have been asking for dates.

Thanks Peter. I guess I’m just surprised that the Zone and the region membership themselves would allow that to happen.
Feel bad for the DE participants in that region, and the OP as well.
Being here in the Northeast, I feel lucky that there are tons of regions and track day groups that I can run with, and I run with 6 different regions and 4 private track rental groups each season.
This season I am doing track days with 3 regions I’ve never run with before, so looking forward to that, but being in the northeast gives me tons of flexibility and options.
I gotta assume that the OP also has many options in terms of regions and private groups as I do, but the most fun DE’s I do each year are with my track buddies from my home region. I would be very unhappy if that was taken away from me.
Hope the OP gets it sorted out.

No argument that we're race oriented but, the POC has hosted a DE series since our inception some 60 years ago. It's called our Performance Driving Series (PDS) and we host a group at all our events. Our instructors are from our race and TT series and we host an instructor clinic each year to keep them all top notch. We'll be at Buttonwillow in 2 weeks (March 9-10) if anyone's interested:

We were approached several weeks ago about hosting a Autocross event and have decided to move forward with that endeavor. There was a demand from So Cal drivers for these events so we felt it was a good fit for our club. The first event is on Sunday March 17th at the El Toro Marine Base airfield. We already have 90+ signed up. Registration is limited but we have another 20 slots to fill so if you're interested check us out. Note that we're offering POC 2019 annual membership for $1. to all who register for this event (normally $95).....

I know, POC is good. And the instructors back when i was learning were tops. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly too, no attitude. But, being a race group, the race events basically take priority. And, I found track time in the TT groups could be limited if there were event issues in the race groups.
But, if you want to run with fast guys, there are VERY fast guys to chase down even in the non-race TT groups.
I haven't done AX forever that could be fun in my little 964.

Not being a wisea$$ here, but, what does the performance driving chair do if there are no DE’s?
Just curious. Thanks.

Odd thing is looking at Chuckwalla, Buttonwillow, Streets Calendars there are plenty of open dates left for the year.
