We have 7 SP997 cars racing with PCA. all 2009-2010 997.2 S PDK's, sport chrono. You'll need to add cooling if you run it hard (PDK cooling and 3rd radiator).

So looks like 18" wheels and tires, pads, fluid, gt3 front control arms, 3rd radiator and PDK oil cooler and should be good to go. Maybe a deeper oil pan down the road, if a stiffer suspension is installed.

looking back, i really felt i made a great decision using my 7.2 pdk carrera s to teach myself and my sons to drive on track

the auto box allowed me to focus on learning the tracks and manage the front grip and rear weight balance without the complication of manual shifting, which made a real difference when climbing the early portion of the learning curve

the pdk allowed for crisp shifts, much better than a traditional slush box - also, one could start to use the manual mode when some confidence was built up and one wanted to self-manage the revs

after feeling quite comfortable on tracks driving the carrera s (roughly 12-15 track days over my 3 local tracks) i then moved on to a 997 gt3, which added the need to manually shift/heel-toe, and just provided more of everything -- was a great 2 phase learning process

norcal doesn't see extreme hot weather mostly, my car did not have the cooling upgrades, and it did just fine. did sticky tires on an extra set of wheels, upgraded pads, rotors and fluid, and i did change the pdk fluid once to make sure that was fresh after about 8-10 days on track... car has always been stout, never a problem, was properly maintained after every 4 track days - with my sons learning on the car too it has in total seen about 20+ track days at this point, even though total miles on the clock are pretty low still
