Default Lizardskin or other heat barrier product - opinions?

I'm having my shop strip and repaint the 944. Has anyone used Lizardskin ceramic or something similar to cut down on the amount of heat from the engine compartment getting to the driver? What about the roof? Would it help to coat the underside of the roof? Or will this just add weight to the car and not really do anything to cut down interior temps?

Thanks in advance.

It’s on my Cayman and several others built by KMC in Lawrence MA. Fully caged racecar with no other insulation. Coming off the track I can put my hand right on the aluminum engine cover and it is warm. It not hot. The car stays way cooler than other similar race cars. I have a cool suit, and haven’t used it yet, even in 90+ degree days.

That said, I’m not sure you want it on the roof. It’s not great in high traffic areas, and is also very abrasive, I think if someone gave the roof a good slap it would probably flake down and why instal a cheese grater in the passenger compartment?

Locals here recommended Reflect-a-gold by DEI or similar tape products for modest heat reduction in smaller areas. No personal experience.
