Group 52 were simply awesome events. I have wonderful memories. They were always my favorite.
Mark and Gary have gone their separate ways.
The June date that Group 52 had is now a DMTD event. I am a huge fan of DMTD as well. I believe the other two Group 52 dates may be Niagara PCA but I do not know this for sure.

I have the honor of having received the last "Biggest Tool Award" bestowed by Group 52. Here I am parading my biggest tool around the Seneca Lodge.

My good friend Erik was/is a big fan, always spoke so highly of running with Group 52 - I would have loved to join someday (if they'd have had me )

Sorry to hear when a good thing goes sideways...

Best,

Matt

It is fitting that you will be the biggest tool forever.

I only did one G52 day but it was probably the two most fun days I have ever done on track. Its where I learned that Seneca Lodge meat cakes, in addition to lots of bourbon, beer and cigars, do not go well with threshold braking the next day!

Meat Cake!
It was a Group 52 event that Joe had FIVE Group 52 Margaritas (each has 4-5 shots) plus some beers and still came to give track support the next day. Rule was you could not vomit.

Hey my good friend Matt !!

Yeah, Group 52 was great and I always enjoyed and was a huge fan. I will tell you that Dave Murry Days are just as great, and Mark Taylor was involved with both organizations. Mark is a tremendous guy. Very fair. No bull****. Has really made me feel part of the “family” and said as much.

Truth be told I’ve already signed up for 2 of the Dave Murry events (will do both Sebring end of January and Road America end of August again). Just that good.

Then again, you are going back to Spa again this year right ? That’s pretty damn good too....

Coochas, I was there when you received your well earned award, as well as at the Seneca to raise a glass in your honor. I think someone may be in line to lay claim to your Group 52 Biggest Tool award, oh wait Group 52 has gone into hibernation... maybe the honor is yours for life.

IIR there was Hello Kitty drama that weekend as well ;-)

That's fantastic, I 1st noticed that hanging on the wall of the Seneca bar several years ago and the name of the co-owner of the business I worked for in the 80's was on there (Sam McCleary)! He ran a tube frame Dodge Truck with them for years..

I remember Sam, Bob Mitten, Stewart and all those guys with those monster trucks--Sam was great. Always asked me "How's the Mini runnin'?" Then out on track I'd point 'em by, like, four at a time
