You mean only 1.6% are driving their cars the way they are meant to be driven and the remaining 98.4% are sitting 8n their garage wiping their cars with diapers?

PCA boasts something like 96,000 members (when they account associate/family members). Based on that, it's about 1,400 club racers. If they are only counting the paying members, then it's about half that.

happily the Drivers Ed program has A LOT of participation from PCA members, so many more are being driven correctly...and probably not spending the exponential $$$ we do...

Would be interesting to see percentage by region and zone.

Drifting
Not everybody member does the PCA races , i have a local race at Mont Tremblant the weekend before the CTMP Club Race in August and my crew chief ( girlfriend ) just can't justify two weeks of my
Summer vacation spent preparing the car and being at a race track.
I still manage to get four or five race weekends in during a season regardless. As much as i'd like to do more PCA events,i'm happy for now !
Guess that doesn't account for in the PCA percentage of members who race, although most of the people i race with are PCA members.

I raced from 1998-2010. I ran a letter car and it was still an hefty annual expense. Can't imagine what it's like now to run a Cup car. Hope to get back into it again but for now, I enjoy auto crossing and watching other people race as well as a bunch of other stuff PCA offers. Keeps me busy in the warm weather months.
PCA was formed by a group of enthusiasts looking for other enthusiasts. That pretty much still the reason people join. Club Racing came about because members wanted it and there was a group willing to do the hard work to make it happen. Pretty incredible when you think that its the world's largest single marque series and its run predominantly by volunteers.
