COTA being resurfaced over winter months?

Burning Brakes
I hope the track and/or event organizers give drivers fair warning about track conditions and work performed. I was one the car/drivers at April Chin event just after grinding earlier this year. It was not just dust, but also included lots of 1mm-2mm concrete pebbles that destroyed front end of many cars. I would like to avoid that type of damage a second time.

Why T4? There is a bump after 5, but I never notice anything at 4. Then again noone else notices the bump entering 2 because they are all too wide there. Maybe Im in the wrong spot at 4.

Has there been a lot of rain on the track since September or less rain than normal? Seems odd there’s been such a rapid change in the track that is now 6+ years old.

As previously stated, Chin's January event at COTA cancelled. They have an event at Barber on Feb 9-10, I am signed up for that event. Let me know if other Texans are interested in making the trek.

So someone with the data and a little statistics could plot out the mean and std dev across the last few years -- but yes this year seems to have been wetter (and cooler).
Also, the variation in rainfall in/around austin can be significant. So these numbers may not reflect the rainfall at Cota

Based on the US Climate Website, Including September we've had 20.04" of rain when historical average is 12.24", so up 7.8" while last year in this same time period we were down 6".

I wonder if that really long dry spell that Austin had has anything to do with it. IIRC construction was during that drought, which before it was over, had Lake Travis way, way down.

For example -- this is a dry creek less than a mile from the track. This happened in spring of 2016. But it can be months of draught, then this happens, and then maybe months of more rain -- or virtually none for 3-6 months or longer.

this was a day when Austin itself only recorded 0.5" of rain
and this happened 6 months before that
