Default Count Down To Sebring Club Race

Three weeks until travel time to Sebring.

How is the food/rooms at the Chateu Elan?

Looks like the Thursday test day will be my first track experience with a GT2 motor in my C stock car. Looking forward to it! Looking at the list of real GT2 cars co-existing (and having a ball) will be my goal. ;>

Is the Thursday test day open track? Come and go at will from 09:00 till 15:00? I thought I read that someplace.

Bill;

I thought I was the only one day dreaming ahead a few weeks. I am looking forward to it myself as a matter of fact. Sooo, you are staying at the Chateau Spa? You going to get a facial and a massage while you are there? I won't tell any of your Marine buddies

Go easy at the T&T Thursday. I'd hate to see you miss all of the fun. What a list a entrants.

Lord willing I'll see you Friday.

Sounds good Mac.

Last year my wife waited until the last minute to decide to attend Summit Point race. I was booked at some flea bag hotel and eating Toco Bell. Next race she attended we stayed in a B&B and she was attacked by squirrels at 3AM.

This time she planned ahead. Spa, wine list, sitting on the balcony LOL at my repeated hairpin "offs". She will have a ball.

Mac, Janet is staying in the Chateu. I am sleeping in a camo tent in the bush.

Just a few weeks now... getting excited!

Good luck getting a room at the Chateu... We have tried to get reservations for the Sebring event months ahead of time for the past two years only to be told that nothing is available. If you are able to get in... the rooms are nice and clean, but the biggest advantage to staying there is the proximity to the track. You could try the Inn on the Lakes in Sebring.

Also make sure you do not get a room over the kitchen as you will be aweken to the scent of breakfast cooking... which does get old real quick.

I think the Thursday T&T is being sponsored by Foreign Affairs.

I have a confirmed room at the Chateau. Last year the downtown Sebring options were not much.

How did you get a confirmed room? How long ago did you book? From you initial post I was under the impression that you were just now making reservations. We tried getting reservations back when the Sebring dates were first announced and was told they were all booked for those dates. I just called now and was told the same.

I went on a wait list in December (early) and was confirmed early January. There were only 10 or so on the list in early December.

I see... I know we got wait listed, but we jumped when we found other reservations. It always surprises me how quickly they fill up. Anybody know the dates for next years event???

See you all there.

I booked a trackside room at the Elan in November! Make sure you take your confirmation with you to the place, last year they tried telling us we had cancelled our reservation. As far as the town of Sebring goes, we won't leave the track much! ...pretty boring as tracks go.

Sending the boxster street car down in the transporter, mom and dad are gonna jet off to Naples one day now that we cancelled our registration after taking a SERIOUS (hopefully) deposit on our F car. Looking forward to shopping for cars and watching races, be glad to help anyone out.

Hey all, there will indeed be a DE at 48hr club race at Sebring. Right now there is a waiting list past the 65 DE cars already registered to participate.
The chateau is nice and close, at entrance to track, but here is a question that has stumped me since I stayed there the first weekend they opened till now. why does a hotel connected with a race track have the slowest elevator in the free world? Anyone who can answer that please stop by and I will buy you a beer at the chateau bar.
