Default F1 Halo Did it's Job

Marcus Erickson had a major crash this morning. The car is a total writeoff, tumbled and rolled over 100 meters. The halo took a serious hit and shows some damage, but the driver was untouched, not even a scuff mark on his helmet. Some people complain about the appearance of the halo, but it is an effective safety item and Marcus is glad that he had one on his car.

That's 2 weeks in a row that the halo did it's job, ironically on both Saubers

Someone doesn't agree that the halo played a major role in the Spa race.

I love that guy. Well, I think the halo is a great thing but there's no way to know for sure if Charles would have been decapitated on live TV so let's not make too big a fuss now.

You only need to look at the marks on the halo to see that it did in fact block the chassis from entering the cockpit. His comment that 'it might have hit his knuckles on the steering wheel' is an idiotic analysis and comment. The marks on the halo are large and the impact was severe enough to cause fracturing of the halo.
Pause the video at 47 seconds and look at how severely damaged the halo is after the impact.
