Sorry to hear this, hope you recover your money or engine.

I almost purchased a 968 6-spd from this guy. Glad I waited a bit, and glad I came across this post, otherwise I would have risked losing $2500.

Justin,

Sorry to hear this story, I hope you will get you money asap.
At least you have the guts to tell us, don't think about how many people had this before and keep their mouth shut.

We have to be carefull at all times as you see........ Check, check and double check is neccesairy in such cases.

If you do a reverse search on the phone number in Boston, what does it come up as?

That is a terrible story. Sorry to hear it.

There were a number of us ripped off by this guy. If there are any more contact Detective Tom Whatley of the Delray Beach PD. He is working on the case. His # is 561 243 7850. Even if you have contacted the guy selling the parts but did not send him money, call the detective. Any info will be helpful.

Justin,
I'm sorry to read about what happened... and I hope you find resolution.

This really pisses me off! Crooks like this really make it tough for the honest folks like myself who sell parts online. I'm just trying to make a buck and recycle reasonably priced parts to the people who need them.

I hope it never happens that people lose faith and go back to buying from Porsche or there trusted retail outlet, and forget about us "recyclers".

I don't know, anyway... good luck dude, et al.

Justin:
Since you sent postage money orders, shouldn't the post office be able to track where and when they were cashed or deposited? Hopefully he was dumb enough to cash them at a bank.

SPRBXR,

Sorry to hear about this terrible transaction. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Pay Pal wouldn't have been any better than sending the money the way you did. I sent money for an Ebay transaction and didn't receive the product for about 2 months. During that time I contacted Pay Pal for a refund or any help they could offer and they were worthless. They only sent the guy emails for a week or two and that was the end of it.

For the benefit of everyone buying parts online:

1. Did you speak with him on the phone? If so, what did he sound like? Any accent?

2. Please send the verbage used in the ad (or the ad itself).

3. The locations where FLA and NE USA?

Perhaps we can see if he posts another ad that is similar in these ways. He must be doing this for a living, and I'm sure he's at it right now.

Chris
