Boxster brake recommendations please...
I figured ya'll here would know the answer to this question, no one else really seems to have any input...
2002 stock Boxster. Currently have original Pirelli P-zeros on original 18" turbo twist rims. I do a LOT of heavy braking every other weekend or so for about a 4-5 hour drive (Texas hill country). I've got 17,500 miles on the car right now. I'm already noticing some warping in the front rotors (or is that those stupid tires?). When braking lightly, there's some vibration. Braking heavy, no vibration. After the tires warm up, on a smooth road, they don't seem to have any out-of-balance. The feel and braking capability seems okay to me. I don't notice and fading, just the vibration.
Recommendations on what to go to please.
1. OEM rotor w/OEM pad
2. apex has a 'sport' rotor (not the s rotor) is that cool?
3. can I use s rotors with an upgraded pad?
btw, my Porsche shop (not dealer) says to use OEM rotors and pads.
I HATE squeeling brakes!!!! (I drive a lot back and forth to work)
What do ya'll think? Recommendations?

Michael:
If it were me, I'd install the Boxster "S" brakes (996 rotors and calipers) at all four corners.
Then, you have really have upgraded your brakes and reduced their operating temps so that your rotor and pad life are extended.

This will work OK for the fronts but, unfortunately, won't for the rears since the parking brake drum/mechanism is different on the base Boxster vs. the Boxster S & 996. Some have suggested running base Boxster fronts on the rear, but I'm not yet certain this will work (I'll be trying it out though in the next month or so).

Lot's of good advice so far...thanks!
I think what I'll do is stick with the OEM rotors and I'll probably use either Rotex Kevlar or Mintex Red Box (silver) pads. These were recommended over on the PPBB Board.
btw, this area of rennlist rocks! I think I'll start hanging out here more...
