Hiking felt like what racing might be like.

This thread needs to be deleted.
It has nothing to do with anything.
There, I've said it.

Everyone has something that excites them, i cant see how hiking can be as challenging or exciting as racing cars, racing sail boats or doing a DE but then again i have only hiked a few trails.
If you find DE boring may be you are not challenging yourself or it could be its not for you.
My final thought, whether you are car racing, bike racing, sailboat racing, none of it is cheap but if its something you really want you will find a way to do it at the appropriate level that meets your budget.

I think I get what the OP is trying to say, but it doesn't really work since he's the only one "racing." Trying to outdo someone who doesn't realize whats up kinda takes the challenge out of it. In any case, its a weird comparison.
As to DE wearing off, thats interesting. While you miss the strategy aspect of it, you are still pushing your car and yourself to improve. If you don't have that desire to improve, than some guy shouting at you about the line and having to go through all the motions to get to the event is not worth it. At least in my case, once you get a taste of the improvement, its pretty addictive.

I totally disagree. The OP complained when people disagreed and gave him some good natured ribbing. If you can't deal with some people kidding around on the internet how can you deal with real life? If the shoe was on the other foot I would have laughed it off.

All I know is that my blog about my real racing has less responses than this guys post about his hike.

OMG, I can't believe I didn't click on this thread earlier. It's more exciting than FP3 in Hungary.

I kind of see what the OP is getting at. I apex my grocery cart, Try to beat my best time mowing with the zero turn, Look for the best line when strolling my grandson. Everything goes back to racing....
