Will the PCA run at NCM?

I wish they would. It's my home track, and a terrific one at that. The main issue that I think PCA organizers worry about, especially for PCA where green students can be REALLY green, is that the Grand Full (the most commonly used configuration) is 23 turns and about as hard and technical as any track I've ever been to. Even seasoned veterans get lost out there. Stringing together a solid lap is a challenge, and that's the fun.
I hear people talk about how they worry about how easy it is to hit armco, yet, countless PCA members flock to the Glenn every year, and every weekend cars get wadded up.
All the regional PCA regions have been running at Putnam forever, and seem to be afraid to give it a try, for whatever reason. Money is one of them. Shame, because lots of PCA guys don't know what they are missing.

What Mvez said. NCM is an awesome track one of the top 5 on the East Coast. Yes it has a lot of connected turns but they are part of your fun. If somebody is worried about the amount of turns then you can run the Max Straight configuration which eliminates Toilet Bowl.

Yep- 103db @ 50 feet. Agreed with Pervez, what’s crazy is how many PCA guys run NCM with other clubs: Chin, 10/10ths, the Museum. I know that OVR PCA has been hesitant to do a 3rd DE out of fear it would cannibalize their 2 standing Mid Ohio days. I wish regions would partner to put on an event or two at NCM.

you’ll pass sound, guarantee. The 964 with the GT3 muffler is CRAZY loud, and I only run one baffle yo keep me under 103db. Lamborghini Huracan GT3’s pass sound.

NCM is an amazing track! Instructors can take care of the green guys. Its intimidating enough to keep folks in line until they learn where they are on the track.

Very fun track. I was there for the very first event, but cannot go back without mods to my cars - due to sound limits. I was black flagged 4 times at Sonoma for > 105dB on 102dB limit day. GT3 center muffler alone is not enough for either of my track cars.

I instructed at the very first event there and have been back several times with Chin, driving up from Florida. Having to go through Atlanta AND Nashville traffic is the only downside. Lots of hotels fairly near the track and a surprisingly robust downtown dining/drinking scene. Huge paved paddock area. Last month, I ran two 8-hour endurance races there with ChampCar. Blistering hot in summer. Love the track. Two high-speed blind-entry sweeps that just take your breath away. A PCA race there would be a hoot. Do NOT miss the Corvette factory tour.

There seems to be something about Porsche's that make it hard to pass sound. Crazy loud American cars seem to pass yet I couldn't pass with a Cayman S with Fabspeed headers and exhaust. After that weekend most of the GTS3-4-5 cars stopped going for the two NASA race weekends.

i have a muffler and put turn downs away from the sound mic and still blew sound. Now it was in the rain or at least damp track and i know moisture does funny things to sound. There was a 944 there with an LS1 that seemed super loud and he didn't have a problem. My car has never been "accused" of being overly loud . Just sharing my experience.
