ok, I admit that I did not think of this. Merely copying a successful proven idea that HSR already does at Sebring.
I did this race a few years ago. Stujelly was in that one, too.
The race started after the regular practice schedule was complete on Friday (so no lost track time). Optional to all registered cars/drivers that weekend for small fee. Started in the light, ended in the dark.

Lots and lots of cars participated - it was easy to get drivers to sign up as they were already going to be there.

FWIW Sebring at night is awesome. I've done 3 or 4 night events at Sebring and just loved them.

You want a successful enduro with LOTS of participation?
Here you go!
You're welcome.
POW!

What clark said.

Its the catalina wine mixer of enduros.

THe 6 hour event that they do for winterfest at sebring is a blast.

I know they used to do a night race for PCA 48 but I am guessing volunteers are hard to find in sebring after nap time....

Raise the price and pay some people.

Agree super enduro pit rules probably need to change. Just drop the min time down for when you get fuel to 3 minutes. Any other stops no min or lower that min time as well. I think Pirelli sprint x is 1 minute minimum time for a pit stop.
