Default Conti GS Cayman GT4 CS MR

I was watching the Conti GS race at Mid Ohio and seeing the cars all doing 28-29's. Just wondering what kind of engine or RWHP the Cayman is putting out. Any ideas?

Thanks,

The GT4 Club Sport is 3.8 liter with 385 hp out of the box, So I would assume something north of that.

Remember those lap times were on the pro course, not using the chicane headed towards the keyhole

My cars weights 2770 w/o me and with 3 gallons of fuel at the end of the race. I am certainly not a pro but with 329 RWHP my best Mid Ohio pro course time is 1:31.6. I think my car has a high 29 with a pro driver. I am trying to figure what the CS MR has power wise to run with cars that have significantly more power.

It has a lot less weight than the rest of the GT4 cars. I haven't looked at the Conti BoP table, but I'm sure it's similar to PWC and the Caymans are around 500lbs lighter than the Audi/Merc/Mustang/Camaro.

My street GT4 (essentially the same motor, save for tune) makes between 330 and 340 RWHP on a dynojet.

Remember that in IMSA they have to run crappy Contis whereas you can run Pirellis or Michelins. I also believe that in IMSA the MRs run catalytic converters. IMSA has various BoP adjustments that somewhat equalize the cars over a race.

They had to do that so the audis would not kill them....

That new audi GT4 opened wide up would kill the field

the GT4CS MRs in conti are typically well developed.
Porsche motorsport has issued carbon front fenders, bumpers, lightweight headlights and battery to keep the car competitive this season with the stock 385hp, but BoP stuck weight back in the car after the fact.

The ECU's are assumed to be stock and not messed with.
My guess is suspension mounting points and wheel base is pushed to the limits.

Well driven examples can put down great lap times for the 385hp.
The large brakes help.

depending on track, equal drivers can be off a Cup car by about 5 seconds at best.

BGB dyno'd their IMSA car, but I cannot recall what the numbers were.
The small throttle body sandbags it.

I have been meaning to dyno my car as we feel it is a strong motor. Just havent got around to it.
