That WAS scary, yikes. I saw the waved yellow at the top of the hill - what's the typical race protocol here? I am clearly not a racer, just asking the question.
Glad you were OK and no one hurt.
Best,
Matt

+1, Seb, you didn't seem to lift until the damaged car was in sight, why not let up at the the waving yellow? Why were you not in your car (pdk vs your manual gtb1)?

I saw it but since it wasnt a huge fast waiving yellow or black or red flag, i though it was just someone off track and not a major crash like this one. My crew didnt call it to me too, it didnt help.
Green flag in corner 1 after that...

The following flags will be standard in PCA Club Racing:
Yellow: Caution. Stationary ‐ hazard ahead, no passing. Waving ‐ Danger, slow down safely, no passing.
Reminds me of Jeremy Dale and Fabrizio Barbazza. I was there and I felt the impact, more than heard it.
Seb, you’re really lucky. Not good, just lucky, on this one...

I'd love to see Road Atlanta put functional flag lights around the track similar to Road America. In this scenario the bridge would have had a blinking yellow as you passed under the bridge. I'm pretty sure everybody would see that as opposed to the flag station that is off to the left. I know I'm one who is very much concerned about getting the line right on that down hill and am focused on that and may miss a yellow that is not waving harder than it was in that clip.

Three Wheelin'
Any one not there and on track during this incident should hold comment. I just watched this video and I am surprised to see a waving yellow. I went through seconds after, it was a stationary yellow with a debris flag. No excitement from the corner worker whatsoever and the condition at the bottom of the hill had not changed. Had my radio man not been yelling in my ear to stay right I might have collected that yellow car as I was setting up the car in front of me for a pass as soon as I saw a corner station without a flag. As it is, that car was collected by another car - one of our RL’ers - and it is incredible no one was injured. That black all did not occur until after the second incident. I would think this incident may need its own thread as there are a lot of comments going around about how this was handled.
