Yep, not only that, but another car spun in Turn 1 of the first lap of the parade lap and this guy spun and hit inside of turn 16 wall on the first, and only, and probably last parade lap during the 12 hours of Sebring.

What a shame and an embarrassment for the marque. Who organized the Porsche parade lap? Was this a PCA or PCNA event?

I saw them leaving the Porscheplatz and they were definitely exceeding 60 mph.

Porscheplatz corral at Sebring 12 hour race. Zone 12 hosts it but the parade lap is under control of Race Control for 12 Hours of Sebring.

it was an embarrassment. Not only that, the IMSA pace car that was doing us the favor of guiding us that morning arrived at the corral only to be told by a porsche owner that their car had no business in the porsche corral. ... embarrassing. ... never seen so many fake badged cars either lol

That does not account for any spares and damage which can easily add up to that same amount or exceed it plus of course the car. Now, they treat you very well and there is a lot of track time, but still....
IMSA entry fee was $250 to $300 in the early '70s. A new '74 Porsche RSR race car was $28,000. Winning an IMSA race got you $5,000 to $7,000. Sebring 12hr win returned us $6,400. RJ Reynolds gave us $10,000. I think we spent around $100,000 to run the entire 15 race '77 IMSA season, with the RSR and the 934. Adjusted for inflation, it was expensive, but probably nothing like today's cost. Using an online inflation calculator, $50k today, was $12k in 1977. We never spent that much on a single race, but then our small private team was run very lean.
