Hpde insurance
The club I drive with has an event coming up June 25&26 at Circuit Mont Tremblant. I’m having a hard time finding an insurance policy for this track day. Does anyone know of any company that will sell an insurance policy for a USA registered car driving on a Canadian track?
thanks

We use Lockton just because they will insure in Canada. LCMT is a blast, our second favorite track after WGI. Lots of fun things after the day is done.

Lockton said they would only sell a multi event policy for tracks in Canada. I would have to buy a 6 event policy. Im lucky if I would do 3 events this year.
Any one have any other options? Really want to do this event. Was planning to take the family and stay the week but just not willing to take the risk of driving my car on track without some kind of insurance.
thanks

You have come up against "the rub." Lockton will cover LCMT and other Canadian tracks and they are the only ones that I know who will, other than Opentrack. Opentrack is generally for the higher dollar value cars, but it doesn't have to be.
Lockton's policy is for one full year, so If you time the purchase of the policy correctly, you buy it shortly before go to Canada, even though you are only doing three events, THIS year, you will have one year of coverage, so you can still use the other portion of the multipack policy (they won't cover Canada for a single use event).......next year..........perhaps more than you want to spend, but it will give you coverage and some piece of mind.

That's what we do: buy the 6 pack and time it so it covers the events we want to do next year. They have been very helpful when I've called them.

I use Open Track and (thankfully) have never had to file a claim, but from what I hear from folks who have needed to file, they've been great.
Just one man's opinion.....

FYI: when I switched to another less expensive car, Lockton worked with me to transfer the existing 1 year policy to the new car and even sent me a REFUND on the difference in dues!
Very pleasant/easy to work with.

$50K car + $150K car, i think around $5K total for both cars. Good for a year regardless of number of track days.
That is from memory, but it's pretty close.
I do 40 -50 track days/year. No brainer for me.
Again, these are not exact numbers. Going from memory.
Easy people to deal with.
