Default Can non p-car guys do PCA track days?

I have a friend with a Miata who wants to try a DE day.
Can he go with me to a PCA DE event?
Does he have to join PCA? Can he?
He can then register with clubreg.net ?
Just wondering what the process is, since I've seen a lot of non p-Cars at DE.

Finally got an answer to this:

Events are for PCA Members and Co-Members.
Members are allowed to bring other track-worthy cars.
eg: Some PCA members have Cayennes, Macans, etc... but have other cars they can bring on track.

Every member is allowed to name one Co-Member.
who is allowed to participate in DE events.

Depends on PCA group.

Some groups will charge a Little more for non PCA members.

Some will require PCA club membership but okay with non Porsche's.

And some will only allow Porsche's.

I drive a Mini and do many PCA days in the NE and MW--check with the individual groups.

My neighbor is a PCA instructor and encouraged me to come out to a PCA event in my e36 m3. He even made me his "associate" member so I did not have to join PCA. Now I too am a PCA instructor and sold the m3 for a 993.

He should be good.

Our grop charges a bit more for non-PCA members - but can otherwise track any car they want.

Reach out to the event director. From my experience they are usually willing to let outsiders participate.

My region definitely allows it, as I've seen other cars at every DE I've been to.
Just not sure how my friend is supposed to sign up.
Doesn't clubreg.org require a PCA member number?
Can my friend join PCA without a Porsche?
Anyone remember if the application requires a VIN or make/model ?

Yes- clubreg allows it. Club Reg does not require the number - the local chapter has options to select (member or non-member). He can join as an associate member if he has a friend that will put him under his number. The PCA application (IIRC) does require a vin.... going off of memory though.

The PCA online application required a VIN when I joined a few weeks ago.

I think you have to be a member to try DE's. When I sign in at DE's I always have to show my PCA membership and my drivers license. Depending on which region you are in he may be able to bring the Miata. I'm in Upper Canada and you have to have a P-car for DE's. This year they're restricting DE's to P cars only.

Where do you live? That way we can better answer your question. As an example in Texas you are not required to be a PCA member nor drive a Porsche. You will pay a little more due to not having a PCA number. A lot of the regions are similar and a lot are a lot more strict in their requirements.

UCR region is unique in that it has sufficient demand for DE from Porsche owners. Most other regions welcome non P cars.

Mardi Gras (New Orleans) Region and Alabama PCA allow non-Porsche cars at DE events. No problem. I'm a Porsche guy but currently drive a Jag.

Considering that the track rental is a fixed cost, most DE chairman would prefer more cars, then less at most venues.
