Default Liability insurance

Who is offering excess liability umbrellas and or personal excess liability policy for people who race? I don't need it for racing and racing has always been an excusipn. But now racing is a new exclusionary tactic preventing underwriting of these policies to racers.

No. I don't want liability for racing or any on track liability. I want general excess personal liability that can be written to someone who happens to race as a hobby. So far I have found none.

contact your insurance company for your home and automobiles. Liberty Mutual sells umbrella insurance but I purchased it prior to racing

Umbrellas do not cover it . If you primary (Auto/Home) liability excludes it so does your umbrella . Umbrellas follow form

In the environment of PCA Club Racing, when would such a liability policy be necessary? Who might be coming after you?

I just acquired liability insurance. They were more interested in my Auto and Home liability insurance minimum coverages.

Nobody asked if I raced -- despite having several race cars on my Hagerty Insurance and a trailer.

One agent asked what I hauled in my trailer -- and I said a race car. No further questions.

Neither my Auto or Home insurance would extend me liability, but that was because I have out of state short term rental homes.

I eventually went with Goosehead Insurance. 2 of the 3 agents/companies I dealt with were a real PITA, Goosehead was quick and easy and also the cheapest.

YMMV,

Mike

Don't know, don't know, don't know. Don't know (other than the obvious -- intentional/criminal act).

But if Vegas opens a line on "most likely to sue after an accident at a PCA Club Race" I'm loading up on dead guy's wife.
