Thanks for posting. Of all the tracks I went to when I was racing, I never made it to Summit Point, unfortunately.

Great track. Also an interesting article about our tax dollars hard at work... 50 million invested in the security training center a scant 75 miles from the state department with room to grow if needed -- yet the State Dept needs to build a new 420 million dollar security training facility 200 miles from the state department.

... only the Government.

Chris White has been a great influence on this facility. I started going to Summit for Ferrari Club events in the mid-Eighties, and it was not a friendly place to make a mistake. In the mid-Nineties, I had to wait for the EMS folks to cut the trees down to get me out of the car, drivers left exit of Wagon Bend, when I managed to go off the course and into the forest! Still, one of my favorite tracks to drive and to race!

I hope so too. I know who they're talking to and it would be a good fit. We will see...

Now that you mention it, I saw a car flip there once when it ran up a small tree after spinning off course. I think they also used to have dirt berms as barriers, and heard about cars hitting them at speed and jumping out into the forest ...

I agree, one of my very favorite tracks to drive, especially since they stopped using the Home Depot liquid asphalt patch that used to ball up and fly by your window at 100 MPH! As for "tree talk", other than your tree trimming exercise my "favorite" was the time I saw a car about 20 feet in the air topping trees across from pit out.. as the saying goes "if it can be hit, it will be.. and if it can't possibly be hit... it will be!"
