FS: New AiM Solo DL w/OBD2 & CAN/RS232 Connector
For Sale: Brand New Solo DL. Includes both OBDII cable and CAN/RS232 Cable to connect to ECU. I purchased the unit earlier this year to be used in a dedicated track car but I ended up purchasing an AiM MXL2 dash instead and never used this one. Plastic is still on the face. All original boxes, etc. The CAN/RS232 cable was I believe around $75.
PayPal only.

Bump and price drop to $600! I paid over $800 for the Solo DL, extra CAN/RS232 cable (includes the OBD II cable too) as well as the RAM mount. Brand new in box!

It works with any car. You have two options. It can be plugged into the OBD II port or it can be hardwired. Both cables are included. The OBD cable came standard and I purchased the CAN cable extra as I was going to have it hardwired but I bought an MXL2 instead.

No. It's usable to run the camera with power and speed/lap/friction circle info, but RPM and TPS are too slow to read correctly.
Umm, no. You get the same info as the Solo, plus it can control the AiM camera, but it doesn't get CAR information (RPM/throttle/brake or brake status, temps, pressures) from every car.
It'll get power from the OBDII port on a pre-2002 996 and 986, but the data is not usable, even though AiM says you can use the ISO 9141/2 protocol. Trust me, Matt, Jerry and many of us have tried!
For 2002 and later 996, 997.1, all GT3's (until the 991) and the 987.1 cars, it will need to be hardwired, and you can get good information. For 997.2 non-GT3, 987.2, 991.1, OBDII works, but hardwire is better.
Here is the chart for connecting this device to a variety of different makes/models: http://www.aim-sportline.com/downloa...II_eng_117.pdf
It's a good deal with both cables and the mount. Plus, it connects to all the cars the Solo 2 connects to and offers the same power for post event analysis.

For the protocol for hardwire, use Manufacturer: Bosch, Model: Porsche 911(996)
You get with good quality, these channels:
ECU_1 P911_RPM RPM
ECU_2 P911_SPEED1 Speed 1
ECU_3 P911_PPS Pedal position sensor
ECU_4 P911_ENGINEMOMENT Engine moment
ECU_5 P911_WATERTEMP Engine coolant temperature
ECU_6 P911_AIRTEMP Intake air temperature
ECU_7 P911_BRAKE Brake switch
As I've said before, nothing available hardwired for the 996 up to 2002, and nothing good on OBDII for the earlier (up to 2002) cars.

You may want to try posting this on www.corvetteforum.com in the racing / autocross for sale section. These are very popular in the Corvette world.
