I actually drive slower on the highways because of track access. Why tempt fait with a felony going more than 80 mph or pushing the posted speed limit over 20 mph when you can hit triple digits, have the full width of the road, and trust the people around you?
Also, had four people in the sedan going around 60 mph when several deer jumped out on the highway in a long sweeping turn while it was raining hard. Amazing - without thinking - I immediately checked mirrors (no one behind me), cut the curve off as a cord, applied straight line braking, and managed to slow down enough to miss the deer - all within a split second. The passengers were stunned and relieved.
