Default Porsche 944 Israel club first DE event

Hi all,

We have a small, but growing club of 944 cars in Israel.
Unfortunately, Israel is quite behind on racing culture
and infrastructure.
Luckily, things are starting to get better and Last Friday we did our first 944 (and friends) DE event in an old airfield converted for DE events.

As you can see we have a lot to catch up, but it was awesome fun and these old cars really shine in such conditions.

We have two new tracks that were purposely designed for cars almost ready and I hope many more days like this one will follow.

Terrific! It sounds like you had some real fun and maybe this is the start of Israel's version of Sebring!

Thank Matt.
It was much fun indeed. We have a long way to go until we reach the level of legends such as Sebring, but we are hopefully making a few baby steps in the right direction...

Sounds great.
Road racing here in upstate New York , started on the streets on Watkins Glen, now one of the finest tracks anywhere.

The event last weekend was at Dalton (up north near Safed).

The two other tracks that are almost ready are @ Peza'el in the east of Israel and Arad near the Dead Sea.

Thanks for posting. Great to hear our Israeli friends are starting down the DE path. I would recommend one of the first items to consider, even for airfield/autocross-type events, is some sort of basic safety requirements such as helmets, a basic tech inspection, etc.

Good luck with it all and keep us posted.

Congratulations very cool to see the beginnings of a new group and location. I saw the references to Sebring if any of you folks get to US and Florida particularly I would be happy to host you for a visit to the original Sebring.

@David993S
I agree with your suggestions. We will improve on these soon I hope.

@uscarrera
Thank you for the exciting offer. I will keep it high on my list and ping you when I get to Florida.
