CGT rear wing stuck !
I left my CGT rear wing fully extended ( up position ) for a photoshoot and did not retract the rear wing. Now the pass side rear wing is down and driver side is up. As i try to use the wing button to extend, i can hear the motor but nothing is happening, is the rear wing operated by a electric motor? Helped by a gas strut ( Stablis ) can any one shed some light on this matter ? Is there a reset button or mode for the rear wing to reset, or is it a visit to the dealer ?

This is a very common failure on the 996 Turbos that have a hydraulic and electric wing.
Please pardon me if I'm wrong here, since I do not own a CGT,but if it has a similar system as the 996 Turbo, then what happens is they leak hydraulic fluid by the rams and most of the time will fail the same way you're describing. And that's why you hear the motor trying to retract the wing but there isn't enough hydraulic pressure.

the wing is actuated hydraulically. The noise your hearing is the pump running. So the actuator has failed. This is a check they do every Major service (4 years) and one of the reasons the rear of the car comes apart, to get to that system.

Sorry to resurrect this after so long. I can retrofit an eRam all electric wing actuator to the CGT if needed. I currently supply three heights to the 996 and 997 turbo enthusiasts. Eliminates several risks like Pentosin leaks which can ruin the paint at best, at worst, may cause a fire.
