I wonder if the Ring lap target might be Sub-6? It has better aero than GT3 RS with triple the power, many times the torque, and similar weight. I think they'll size the battery to be just big enough to complete 1 lap at full performance.

I think this car could legit kill me just from g-forces alone…it's going to be epic - and most likely "unobtainium"
I will have to aquire seat time and do my best to soil myself with what this thing could do…
so what? 0-60 time in like negative 1.9 seconds (you'll go back in time before the light turned green?)
also love the benchmark - charge faster than a Taycan - having owned Tesla's since 2012 and Taycan since 2020 - when a 350 kW charger actually works (rare occasion but possible and I've experienced it) - the Taycan's charging curve/speed is sooooo good vs. Tesla - really really awesome and super fast - if the Mission X is "faster" I'm thinking 15 minute or less to 80/90% battery SOC…that could be a game changer. While in North America the Supercharter network is king for access/reliability - when EA "works" with Taycan (again rare) it's faster than Tesla - hands down.
central mass of the battery harkens back to Tesla Roadster 1.0 - and yeah I've always wondered about a battery 'brick' behind the seats…
porsche's response to Tesla's plaid…not in our league or even close - AMG ONE did a 6:30.xx lap time - that is a barely legal "production" car - and it has a hybrid F1 style (identical?) powertrain setup…
I'm thinking 6:10.xx or faster…if this ever comes to production.
Taycan is a 7:33.xx lap time…

2023 911 GT3 RS 6:44.xx lap time…
918 Spyder 6:57.xx

Maybe this is a silly question, but back when the 918 came out, what was buying it like? Could anyone with the cash plunk down to purchase one? Or even for that car did you have to play the allocation game.

It was during the Great Recession, they had to create the VIP program to convince people into buying them.

Btw this isn't going to be like the 918, and I don't mean the economic environment when it launches ... this appears to be an AMG Project ONE segment car likely with a price to match. If not limited by plaque it will certainly be limited by its msrp. If you have two or three large under the sofa cushion I'm sure Porsche will sell you one if they ever end up making it. We're very much in the 2002 plasma TV world. Heck boy 2027 there might be 1000hp available in a Camry.
As for me, full respect to the insane engineering, but literally zero interest in owning this even it had a $300k msrp.

Rather than discounting the 918 to move them, the offered any buyers (who kept them) an automatic allocation at MSRP for every limited model for a 10 year period (which ended up being worth millions in the secondary market for the $845k price - and the 918 itself appreciated too).

Im on the list for it, If Im going to go electric this is exactly how Ill do it. Plus, sucker to finish off the porsche hypercar trinity. Expecting 1.4-1.85 range, could be 2 and it wouldn't SHOCK me but who knows. It will however be FREE GAME re allocations, there will be no 918 program by then.
