I am about to put down a deposit on a 918 in my local dealer in LA. How long does it take to get the confirmation back from Porsche regarding my allocation?

Congrats biko, footsoldier, heynow and neosky not to change the thread so I will call this a necessary option >> insurance. Most Insurance cos have limits on the value they will insure. Did you have difficulty in finding an insurer for the 918 and if so can you share the name that will insure this level of Porsche. The reason I ask is I had to change my insuring co when I got a 911 Turbo due to ceilings on the value and it is a far cry from the price point of the 918. I'm sure others on this board would be interested.

As soon as the paper pushers in the office gets the order to Stuttgart.

918 is not sold out yet, and USA is the just about the only place in the world that has allocations left.

Good questions... I haven't inquired yet so recommendations would be helpful.

I uses firemans fund on all of my cars, including my exotics (12C and Aventador) and they are very reasonable. They will lock in the value at the full msrp and that's what they use. On the aventador, the locked in value was $485K and my premium was $5200/year for 5000 miles annual use and $1000 deductible with $20,000 for exotic rental per incident. I havent checked the premium for the 918 since my car won't be here until fall of next year.

Congrats on the upcoming addition to your collection. 918 will look great next to your P1 and awesome choice with the blue.

You should pick up a set of these

Good idea... Seems like the necessary ritual with each new Porsche!

Dude, for the price you're paying for the car, the dealer should throw in a pair of clear LEDs for free, and a spare as well.

I already bought a set from Suncoast and my dealer reimbursed the cost. They were going to order a set for me but when they found out it's way cheaper in the US...................

We appreciate it! I believe we've only sold one set so far, so that must have been yours. Looks like quite a few more owners will be taking delivery very soon. Congrats again to you both!

Just for those future instances where the dealer isn't paying for it, Sunset Porsche (in Oregon US) is cheaper than Suncoast. Across the board.
