My source for the numbers was from Stuttgart direct when I was at the factory, not from regional representatives Anyway, that info is almost 2 months old.

As for the hold, see the 8th post above yours. It's the weekend and I am working on my new house in Whistler and the sales manager and I don't communicate on weekends so I am just waiting for their confirmation tomorrow. I have waited almost 18 months, what's another day or 2.

Probably the same engineer in Stuttgart that told me over three years ago the clearance on a 918 is 19mm more than a GT. Not! Even with the lift kit, it is only 120mm. Be careful in the construction of your driveway at Whisler.

Not engineer, but exec in suits who shall remain nameless

The house is already built, my Speciale can make it there with the front lift, pretty sure the 918 can also do it

One more thing, for those that care and follow, just got word that flight is booked and my car is scheduled to arrive at Pearson this Friday night. I guess it will arrive in Vancouver the following Tuesday or so.

Whoopsy. Congrats!

P.S. If for some reason SWB can't make it Friday, I'd be glad to fill in for him.

P.S.S. SWB, when are you doing your factory tour?

I was called this afternoon and my car goes into production Friday so I'm trying to see if I can make something work next week.

Lol, you 2 might run into each other on the floor.

As for getting the car here Monday, I'd rather have it come Wednesday or Thursday in 1 piece. Winter now and the trip cross country has to go through some of the highest mountains and a stretch of highway called Highway Thru Hell.

Plus, you 2 will be busy flying to Stuttgart to see your own cars this weekend.

Did they give you any specific dates next week when they would have a 918 concierge available to handle the tour, etc?

Notwithstanding what C told me by phone this morning (about the car being on the floor for three weeks--which I don't think is accurate), if my car really goes into production Wednesday this week, then I think it's last day on the floor will be Monday next week.

I was told that if I want to see it on the floor I need to visit between Nov 3-9. I am going to have a further confirmation tomorrow or Wednesday. That's really all that I know. Whoopsy's posts track with what I witnessed and was told back in March when I visited the factory floor. Anything beyond a week on the actual assembly floor does not sync with everything I have seen and heard.

Well well well, what's new, ANOTHER delay for my car. I think my car is the single most delayed car among all 918 of them.

Just got a phone call that yes my car will still arrive in Toronto tomorrow night, but someone somewhere had decided that the car should be checked over at my local dealership instead of in Toronto, and the 918 technical specialist can't make it to my dealership until next Friday morning. Also conveniently, the equipment needed to PDI the 918 won't arrive at the dealership until late next week. So the new schedule is that my car will spend a lonely weekend in Toronto, then get trailered Monday morning to start the journey West and should get here next Thursday or so. Only a couple days late but I guess Murphy's Law strikes again.

Officially, I don't take delivery until around the 14th Nov. The weekend it arrives in Vancouver I will be away in Whistler till past Remembrance Day, then the dealership will host a VIP party when I get back and then I can finally grab the car.

Anyway, on a side note, I am counting the 918 buyers on this board as I am bored.

-myself
-swb3
-GT3_racer
-918man
-todbod
-notmelo
-wtdoom
-footsoldier
-unotaz
-apolo1
-heynow

That's 11 cars. I think I got them all?
