That's Liquid Metal Silver. Code is S8.

It's awesome, but certainly pricey.

Yes, and if I recall, it's a $60k option. Amazing looking to me.

Yes, that's the official code on the 918 order sheet. But unless you are getting a 918, not sure Porsche will allow this colour to be applied to their other cars.

But, I believe the paint is from BASF, most body shops should already have the colour code from BASF.

The liquid metal colors are like an 8-10 stage paint process. I doubt most body shops can replicate this and make it look the way the factory does.

Actually, the repair blend in instructions are surprisingly simple.

You are absolutely right but it doesn't hurt to give it a try The code S8 didn't cut it at the painters today, they needed a longer code like LW something, there are tons of gray scales. I've looked at the 2 *.pdf files but didn't help. I'm sure the color can be recreated by trying it over and over again until one gets it right but it sure helps to get the exact code.

Does anyone know the correct paint code/name for this color on a 918? Is it a paint to sample?

That red has so much orange in it it almost feels like is a PTS Rosso Scuderia.
