This is a clear indication the majority of these cars are in the wrong hands.

Wow. These things are all over the place. But I know they are highly maintenance history dependent.

I'm curious if your business partner was selling his 04 CGT why wasn't it listed here.

High 4's 8k miles - there are lots of people who look here for a CGT.

So would any dealer in the country with a wire on the spot. The car either had a story, or is a story.

Looking for some advice, is there a price difference between 2004 and 2005? I know it’s probably been covered in the thread, but looking to make an offer on a 2004. Not to offend anyone, my general understanding has been that the 04 has been selling for less but how much if any? Thanks

From what I've researched, clutch programming should have been updated in a campaign by now. and, assuming so, shouldn't be any mechanical differences. I think there were more interior cxx options available on 05's like stitching, colored belts, colored trim mats, cf gear shift, etc.

now that they are both LONG out of warranty, it's a bit like owning an 07 or 08 GT3RS. I have an 08 but not under any illusions it will bring me any more cash if I ever sell it. If you can use 04 as a leverage point to get your current example cheaper, go for it.

04 will always have the clutch issue discount. Porsche fixed any cars that had an issue but owners had to agree not to disclose that the car had a clutch issue that was fixed. This obviously was good for Porsche - who would not have to reveal how many cars had an issue - and the owner - who now had an excuse not to disclose that their car had an issue that was fixed on resale. Of course any 2004 cars that had an issue that was fixed should not have any price discount and any car that had no issue should not have it in the first place. But as we know rumor an myth persist longer than truth.

Otherwise there are no differences other than the rear window. See the info at this link https://**********/description-980-carrera-gt/

Great info. Did the US let in plastic windows?

Did Porsche proactively contact the 04 owners with clutch problems or did the owners have to complain? If so, seems like a driver had exposed the clutch issue by now and maybe some garage queen 04's with original clutch could still have the issue (if any of those actually still exist).

And any 04 with clutch replaced makes clutch issue mute point anyway?
