I just dont see how or why that would be true. Its the same exact car, anything to the contrary is BS. There is no difference......

Understand, thanks.

I asked the Porsche dealer about the regular seats and he was of the opinion that all the cars that came to the US had extra wide seats. Based on the way I fit in these "extra wide seats" I would suspect only the thinnest or smallest of individuals could comfortably sit in the regular seats.

I've seen a mix in the US.
This type of "information" always makes me laugh. We have two data points, the thinner person says that he doubts that he could fit into the thinner seats and likes the wide ones. The wider person says he fits just fine into the thinner seats and wouldn't want the wider ones.

What a disconnect!

I think it has more to do with hip-bone structure and not Body Mass Index. Not necessarily surprising at all.

I agree that that would be a likely cause, but the guy who says his hips are "wider than average" AND has a higher BMI says he fits into the narrow seats, but the guy who says he has regular width hips AND a lower BMI requires the wide seats - that is completely opposite!

Oops!

It does remain a confusing mystery, then. All I know is that the narrow (normal) CGT seats are too tight for me, but the XT seats work just fine. I also fit well in my RS 4.0 "folding race buckets". Go figure!

There were some minor differences between model year 04 and 05. Check the archives for those postings. I recall vents in the headlights, DME program change.

I am skinny and the XT seats are fine, better holding than most production sport seats, although had I had the choice I would have bought a "regular" size for a tighter, race car kind of fit.

May be a little OT, but I noticed that the race seats are designed in a very vertically "sitting position." Moreso than any race car I have owned with race seats....
Is there a reason for this?
Too bad any reclining is not adjustable
