What a great writeup!
We have similar tastes. I have a black CGT, a 991 C4S as DD (which i love), and my white Ford GT is arriving next week. Your article really hit home for me. I replaced my 458 Spider with the FGT.

May I asked why you got rid of your 458 Spider? Am considering one

A few reasons:
1) this was my third 458 in a row starting in August 2010. So I had been there done that I felt.
2) the car is superb on every level but on most roads it's just too fast and not challenging at sane speeds.
3) the image of the car is pretty strong and this is becoming more important to me
4) the car is just passing through until the next better model comes out. I don't like this kind of anxiety and was looking for something more timeless

Great write-up.
If your buddy is ever too busy, I'd be happy to drive the GT for your viewing pleasure. I can be in Prescott in no time.

Just finished up the 8th Annual National Ford GT rally. Held in Sonoma, CA this year. Lots of talk and respect for the CGT from our owners group. I'm glad I have both in the garage!
