Default Cracked Windscreen mystery ?

Interesting one this . This morning the CGT has a crack in the windscreen bottom left corner . There doesnt seem to be an impact point . The previous owner of the cgt had fitted a detector jammer thing and im sure the gps is fitted around there .
Has anyone heard of cracking screens etc ? My first one never did that .

Absent an impact rare. But not unknown. The glass may have been improperly heat treated/annealed during manufacture.

Or the glass's contour/shape slightly off and the glass was under some stress after being installed.

Unless you tell me the crack doesn't start out of sight under/behind the glass surround, perhaps if the repair tech is careful enough in removing the old glass he'll find a chip or something on the edge of the glass that was the starting point for the crack.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Default No Mystery!

My car had the same problem! Your front body is mounted too close to the windshield, It took 2 windshields to figure out what was wrong with my car, Porsche paid for both. ( this was when the car was new). When the car's chassis flexes it pinches the glass..... Let me know if I can help!
