Taking the CGT out to the Airstrip!!!
Oct 25th or 26th depending on weather we are taking 10 cars out to a military airstrip in Oscoda Michigan to do some high speed runs. The runway is over 2 and 1/2 miles so hopefully I will be able to reach 200mph.
I am planning on taking in car video and will find a way to post it after the runs.
I was planning on setting the tire pressures to the factory specified values, but was wondering if running a slightly higher or lower pressure would be recommended for high speed runs.
Any other recommendations on making the run safer or faster would be great!

When I visited RUF a couple of years ago, it was shortly after his Nardo runs. They x-rayed (?) their tires to make sure there were no defects and took off the passenger side mirror to reduce drag. When I tracked my car Michelin recommended that the hot pressure was whatever was on the door sill as that optimized the shape of the tire for traction. Jay Leno's 200 mph runs were done at Talledega with the car lowered and on 18" BBS wheels with Michelin slicks. Although the factory didn't release Leno's set up, the best alternative was described on the Manthey web site. Good luck.

Re tyre prsssures this is most important thing for very high speed runs.... adjust pressures to factory recommended at cold DIN temperature (20DegC) if your ambient temperature is higher or lower than DIN (20DegC) (when you do the cold check) I personally would adjust the pressure accordingly - **** but IMO important for 200mph fun
On Bruntingfield in the UK we normally see around 194mph for CGTs in 1.6 miles before having to brake, the aerodynamics giving ~300+kg of downforce at these speeds really slow the acceleration down but the benefit of "lane changing" stability has to be felt through the helm to be believed !
Look forward to reports and pics/vids - be safe
