Got my first ride in a GT
You guys must be the luckiest SOB's on the planet...
I was instructing at Roebling Road DE this past weekend and there was a Carrera GT that was driven by Ron Zitsa (sp?) a pro driver with a couple of free Rolex watches that would take people on a few hot laps for a charitable contribution. The car was bone stock except for Michelin racing slicks.
All I can say was that it was incredible and boring at the same time.
Incredible because of how well it cornered and boring because even braking from 170MPH the car felt like it was on a Sunday drive, no drama. Those ceramics and slicks were an awesome combination.
One of the other Zotz Racing 997 Cup cars that just competed at Daytona was there and it only took one lap (2.2 miles) to make up a half a lap gain the Cup had on the GT when it left the pits...
Just had to share with somebody who had an idea of what i was talking about. I will never forget that experience.

Congratulations on your ride in the CGT. However, I would contend that you're pretty lucky yourself. I would bet that a good number of us who are fortunate enough to have a CGT have not experienced a fraction of the car's potential like you did - on a track AND wearing slicks. That's pretty cool! While the experience on public roads is always exciting, it's also interrupted by traffic, stoplights, traction control, potholes.....

And congrats eddie! I would have loved to take a ride in 1! I saw 1 at Bremen (sp) porsche in palm beach when i was there this past spring break. funny enough, my friends worked on it like 2 weeks later... the same 1 i saw. I guess there aren't too many.

Great Story,
I was lucky enough to drive a CGT on the street for about 1 Hour, and ride in one Many times
including with Timo Bernhard in Germany. This was a ride of a lifetime, then he switched off the
TC button and said; "NEVER do this!!" and proceeded to show me how he could drift it so easily!
