It looks like the driver aids didn't help very much!

that's the "undercover brother"!
he could spin that big caddy convertible w/o spilling a drop from his big gulp!
enzo's must be even tougher to control than big ole vintage caddy convertibles!

Someone thought somebody must have put mayo on his sandwich!

On the tape he says:

"Undercover Brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the Brother can't drive."

They probably saw the movie and thought he could really drive, and so they gave him the keys to the Enzo!

If you watch the video, you can see the Enzo pushing like crazy. Classic rookie driver mistake...no feel whatsoever for realistic cornering speeds....oh well, gee, you wouldn't actually want to LEARN how to drive before getting in an Enzo at the track! duhhhh...........

I agree he was definitely pushing way too much speed through the corner.

A few things I find strange are:

It was a practice day, you think he would of started off slowly and built up speed throughout the practice time. I would think a novice would take it easy in such a high performance car initially.

It didn't look like the Anti-Lock braking was working at all, it looked like the wheels locked up and he just plowed forward.

They shouldn't of had a baracade right by such a tight turn, it seems they could of set the course up better to minimize the chances of something like this happening.

I hope this wasn't a publicity stunt to bring attention to the movie, it seems if it was they wouldn't of hit the baracade that hard or had it lined with tires or something so that he wouldn't get hurt.

So .... anybody heard from Nick?

The Enzo crash is obviously a result of a design fault and criminal negligence on the part of Ferrari and anyone else i can think of ... :P

It's possible that the driver suffered from an episode of "pedal misapplication" (as NHTSA ultimately referred to Audi-style unintended acceleration).

The brakes of ANY car can completely overcome the engine power if they are actually applied.

He isn't on the brakes. The car is suffering massive understeer from entering the turn too quick, he even gives it throttle, you can hear it twice, this would have increased the understeer.

If he'd have hit the brakes I suspect all would have been ok.

For stability devices to work they need time and space. Niether of which were present in this accident. However, he did walk away and laugh about it. Interior safety devices worked.

BTW, that Enzo had been crashed prior to Mr. Griffin's drive. The owner of the car is the producer of the movie.......hmmmmm makes you wonder.

That seems like a ton of understeer- do we think that was normal handling, even give the poor driving? AS

Unfortunately, the enzo driver in France can't say the same thing....

Surely somebody should be sued for something ? right ?

Heard it was a complete stunt to promote his movie. The owner producer is having to promote the movie as the big movie companies turned him down. If you consider the amount of air time he got for the cost of repair, makes alot of sense.
