source for cgt clear side markers? Possible Group Buy, Please Respond!
anyone have a source for cgt clear side markers?
i guess row models didnt even have a side marker!?
so you can't just order a row version.
have any of you UK importers replaced yours or found a source?
need two sets! (not for me)
edit for UPDATE:
i'm in contact w/ gert at carnewal about the clear side makers for a cgt.
he said at one time they were going to have one mfg. but didnt feel the volume was there to make a buck.
i told him i may be able to come up w/ a group buy for clear side markers.
i already have a need for two sets and interest from RS Clubsport, and user 20c4s.
any other cgt owners that would be interested please reply to this thread so i can give him a count for a price quote.
thanks!

I seem to recall that the only way to get the clear markers was to replace the entire front bumper. Are you guys looking for a separate supplier for just the clear marker piece itself? Is it even possible to remove the amber one?

Knowing Porsche, I would suspect that these came from and may be shared by another car. Don't go out and retool for a handful of these when they might be off another Porsche, VW, or an Audi. If you figure that out you can then look for their ROW version.

Are these just lenses, or are they fused together with a lamp housing?
I offer side marker conversion kits for the 928, where the amber part has to be cut off from the base, and a new clear lensn is fused on.
I could talk to my vendor about these, but he usually requires a minimum 25 pair order and some upfront money to make anything new. If we'd pay him enough, he might do a lower quantity also. But first I'd have to know what the original side marker assembly looks like, and also what it costs to buy a pair.

i think cgt owners would prefer to keep the original assembly as is, in case they decide to restore the car to original condition.
some people are picky about that sort of thing!

In essence, we'd have to offer complete replacement assemblies - which would require us to buy the original amber ones and replace the lens with a clear one.
Correct?
Correct?

I have sent an inquiry to my vendor. He hand casts his clear lenses with the highest grade, non-yellowing materials - my 928 customers know the quality level. I have asked him, if he could supply us with complete side marker assemblies - which he'd have to make by converting the factory ones with his clear lenses. Let's see what he says. It might be a few days until I get an answer from him.
