Default 100 octane unleaded

i was wondering if anybody tried higher octane unleaded fuel in their cgt yet. if so, did it make a noticeable difference? just curious to see if the ecu would adapt for the better fuel or if it is just a waste of money.

I tried 105 at the track once, and I didn't notice any notable difference.

Ben and I tried it in his CGT and found no appreciable difference. We both agreed it was a waste of money.

thanks for your input. i would think the ecu would adapt to the higher octane. i know the mercedes ecu adapts immediatley, and both ecu's are motronic if i'm not mistaken.

The only way to know for sure is to dyno the car, with a car as powerful as the CGT is would be very difficult to tell from seat of the pants feel. It isn't going to add more than a couple of percent if the ECU does adjust and I don't know too many people that can feel an extra 12-18hp on a 600+hp car.

Use the recommended fuel from a good source. The compression is fixed and the engine is not pressure charged, so more octane is wasted. Adaptable systems reduce power with lower than recommended octane when they sense knock.
