Seems they fixed a small crack and then crash tested the tub at low speeds.
Think it may be an insurance total.

The driver might not have been, but the car certainly was!

The natural fiber telephone pole must have been moving real fast to crumple the front
the of the CGT carbon fiber structure at "30 mph".

I swear ossifer. The pole just jumped in front of the car and kicked the front end of the car in . . .

Why does the parking attendant scene from 'Ferris Beuhler' come to mind.

Like most modern high perf. car's, the CGT is designed to crumple easily to absorb the impact. . The pole never moved and yet the driver suffered relatively minor injuries and his passenger none.

We know little about carbon fiber impacting a pole. Are there any experienced folk out there who could comment on the necessary speed to cause that damage? AS

I'm skeptical because at 30mph with those incredible breaks, i don't get why he didn't just stop.

A wall is not a pole but here are some photos showing a 60km/hr offset barrier crash test of the CGT.

I do not understand these pictures. They purport to show a collision against an immoveable wall at 45mph and no damage?

There is enough damage to destroy your finances until the end of 2010

Based on these pictures and apparent no damage, the US should use CGT in Iraq. It clearly will withstand the damage and protect our soldiers better from exploding IUD's.
