Default CGTs @ Laguna

Great weekend @ Laguna, with 2 CGTs gracing the track and testing the sound meter police. I had the privilege of riding shotgun in the yellow car, and chased the below car in my GT-2. The CGTs handling is truly epic; fabulous balance, power, sound, chassis balance, etc. Had I known the CGTs were at the sound limit, I would have brought mine

Gotta love the orange!!!!!

This is local car, nothing Techart on it. Factory ordered pearl paint inspired by the owner having a Gallardo.

Very nice in detail up close and the wheels are great -- I'm no fan of painted wheels but on the CGT design, it works and doesn't look austenatious ... well, you know, in context, I mean.

The black paint on the calipers was an option (instead of PCCB yellow) and cost a mere $7K.

The impressive thing about this car was the driver -- he had some years of amateur racing years ago and it showed in his ability to drive the line and use the car. The sight of it on the track following him around was how you would imagine things unfolding if they let street cars on the track while a driver in an F1 car circulated -- the sound track was very similar and the relative speeds between the turns just made you laugh out loud.

It was a lot of fun at the track. It was my first time at that track and I really liked it! Nearly every lap I had was with a different passenger!

No lap times, as the owner indicated it was his first time out with the car, and it was late in the day Sunday where everyone was sort of cooling it.

As indicated, owner had raced in the Ferrari Challenge series for a number of years (360s).

Definitely fun following him (and I have video, but have no idea how to upload) and the noise was glorious. Surprisingly, the CGT didn't gain that much on my trusty (and stock) GT-2 through turn 1 to 2, but it did gain in other areas (turns 5 and 6) where the CGT's mid-engine balance is much better to carry speed than the tail happy GT-2. Great fun!!!

Guess my cherry has been popped! I now know how to upload videos!

The video doesn't do the sounds or sights of the CGT justice; nonetheless, it was fun to follow the car and admire at speed. I would guess that both of us were pushing the cars about 70%

Enjoy!

A few photos of me at Laguna. I left just as the orange GT got on the track. I think I inspired him with my 13,500 miles on my car!

i was at laguna seca that saturday and got a picture of your car. glad to see you driving it on track...where it's meant to be. and it sure sounded SOOO nice.

ironically, my little integra type-r (n1 racing exhaust) clipped the meter at 94db and forced me off for most of the day.

i was at 94db when i blasted from 2nd to 3rd past the sound booth, so from then on i just kept it in 3rd and stayed on the far side of the booth. no more problems.
