Default Anyone changed the shift ****?

I wanted to change out the birch-ash ****. To something smaller. I've never seen this done.

Because I find it to be to large for my taste. I have seen non-birch *****, and would consider having something made.

I think his is exactly the same size as the wood ****.

AFAIK, it uses the same metal bits to fasten it to the shift lever.

Dude why would you want to change the ****?
The **** is birch b/c thats what they used as the material for the shift **** in the first 917 race car that won Le Mans.

Kind of like going to Burger King and asking for a Big Mac, you don't do it - especially if you are ever going to think of selling the car.

I know the reason for it, i wasnt going to throw it away, I just wanted to have something else. I'm not change mona lisa's smile guys, I am making the car mine.

I have no intentions of selling, but would never do anything to the car that I couldnt undo.

At the end of the day, this is a car. Not a religious icon!

does the CGT take a standard round threaded shaft shift ****? or does it have some odd requirement like the square one you find on the 996's

Porsche have offered a carbon fiber **** as an option from the 2005 model year on. The Mac carbon **** is identical - I think they are the supplier to Porsche. It look really good. I changed mine out.

Our **** is exactly the same as the factory ****. So changing to our carbon **** will not help in 'Anothercars' pursuit. We currently have our second batch of ***** in stock. You can order them at the macarbon website. www.macarbon.com->Porsche Carbon-> Carrera GT
