Just read that they built 1,270 Carrera GT, up from 1,000 they had planned.
53% of production went to the US.
12% of production remained in Germany.
7% of production went to the Middle East.
The end of Carrera GT production leaves a void at the Leipzig factory, where the Cayenne is made. Whether the upcoming Panamera will be built in Leipzig has yet to be decided. If that happens, the investment in the factory would be around Euro 100 Million, and add approximately 600 jobs.

But, initially it was 1000 cars, then given the "inflated" demand they increased it to 1500 cars. I put my first deposit down when Dealers were saying 1000 cars, over 3 years.

Dealer say lots of things, which are not reliably "official".
Dealers also said,"Maybe 2,000" at one point.
Porsche AG never nailed down the the final number until Geneva, and it was officially 1,500.
The downfall of the Carrera GT marketing effort was quoting the price in Euros (under 400,000), which the dealer chain was free to convert to dollars at an advantageous rate, and not putting a firm number on total output early in the game.
The 1,000 number was the minimum required to make the project a "go", not the projected final ceiling. Remember?
