Default Full Custom Paint / Windshield Protection - CGTs

As some who attended our Open House last weekend, we presented to a few our new windshield protection film. It is a 4 mils thick polyester clear film w/ an ultra hard-coating on top that protects it from daily usage (windshield wiper blades, road debris, etc.). We just installed it on a Carrera GT whom the customer drove for 3 days and already experienced one marble sized rock that hit the film toward the top edge and not damage the glass. It did leave a minor scuff that is equivalent to a spec of sand. Below are some pictures of the film and its clarity.

The film is thermally applied (heat shrunk) to the windshield to conform to the contour of the glass. If anyone here is familiar with window tinting, heat shrinking is a valuable technique in performing one piece installations. This is no different..........only that the windshield film is 3.5 times thicker than standard tint.........not easy to shrink at all.

This product not only protects the glass from small debris that could crack and split the glass, but it also offers 99.9% UV protection. In addition, it adds an extra layer of protection to the occupants from road debris. The film does not affect visible light transmission, which means it will not alter the aesthetics or legality of "tint" on the windshield.

We also offer our new high-line nano-technology ceramic film for all windows (including windshield). The film rejects up to 81% of infrared rays and blocks approximately 50%-60% of solar heat w/o the need to go with a dark shade. The most beneficial part of ceramic film is that it will not affect with wireless signals (gps, radio freq, etc.). We have the film in 60%, 50%, and 40%. Both our ceramic line and windshield protection film reduces glare by up to 50%, which is helpful for night time driving.

Pricing will be based on vehicle glass size and difficulty. For more information about the products, please feel free to give us a call Monday-Sunday 10:30-6pm. Thanks guys

Insanity!! I haven't had a car in 5 years that didn't have at least some protection.

One question, however: if you are doing it in one giant piece (my assumption), how do you repair the inevitable little dings, cuts and chips in the film?

Good point Jamie140. The film is actually pretty tough to cut or damage, but when it does, it's usually on the bumper where the brunt of the impacts. The film is there to protect the paint, and if the film gets damaged enough, it can be replaced. On a side note, when we cover an entire car, it's done for just rock chips. Some of these cars are exposed at large events where hundreds or even thousands of people attend. All you really need is one person who doesn't like the car or the "wealth" behind it to go and key or damage it. We already saw this happen last year at the Concorso. Damage of a Maranello was about $30k in paint work. The film can withstand most key marks (most vandals do not use blades or knives....usually what they have in their pocket - keys). The film could be replaced within a few hrs vs. a respray + possible blending if close enough to the next panel.

I got a bad chip in my CGT windshield and now need to replace it. Believe me, you do not want to have to pay for a new CGT windshield -- it's obscenely expensive.
